elevate your financial well-being

In 1994 we were financially free. Kim was 37. I was 47. Most people thought we had made millions of dollars to “retire” on. That was not the case. Instead we followed what my rich rad had taught me about money and investing. And the two key words are Cash Flow.

Our formula was simple: have more cash flowing in every month from our investments than was flowing out in living expenses. In 1994 we simply had $10,000 per month in cash flow coming in every month, primarily from our rental real estate investments, and $3,000 per month going out in living expenses. At that point, thanks to Rich Dad’s principles, we were financially free.

It was at that point that we asked ourselves, “What is it we truly want to do with our lives?”

We believe that the purpose of a business is to solve problems. The problem we set out to solve was that there was little-to-no financial education being taught in the school system…worldwide. So we took on the task to provide real financial education to people all over the world. We wanted to keep it simple, so that even a 9-year-old could understand it. I was 9 years old when my rich dad began teaching me.

It Began With One Product: CASHFLOW® 101

Because we were financially free at an early age, everyone kept asking us, “How did we do it?” So we thought this could be a great opportunity to share the Rich Dad principles that got us to this point.

We asked ourselves, “How can we best deliver what we did in a way that was accessible to everyone?” That was when we created the CASHFLOW® board game in 1996. This game teaches, in a fun and entertaining way, exactly what we did to get out of the Rat Race and achieve financial freedom.

Which Expanded Into Books...

As the game was getting known, we decided we needed a brochure to market the game. I began writing the brochure…and writing…and writing…and writing. That brochure became the basis of the book Rich Dad Poor Dad.

We self-published Rich Dad Poor Dad in April 1997. The book was on the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and Businessweek bestseller lists for years. In 2000, Oprah called and I appeared on her show. That show and the book went worldwide in an instant. Today, Rich Dad Poor Dad has become the #1 bestselling personal finance book of all time!

We had no idea that the book would hit such a strong chord with so many. For that we are very grateful.

CASHFLOW Quadrant was my 2nd book. To this day it remains a major bestseller in the U.S. and around the world.

We have quite a series of Rich Dad books I written since then, including two books with Donald Trump. FAKE , my latest book, and is fast gaining recognition around the world.

As a natural progression from Rich Dad, Kim launched the book Rich Woman in 2006. As Kim says, “Most women from a young age have been taught to depend upon someone else for their financial well being, be it a husband/partner, family member or government. As a result, due to divorce, death of a spouse or bad money management, they find themselves in a financial disaster.” Rich Woman is a wake-up call to women to start taking care of themselves financially.

... And Evolved Into a Movement

In 2004, the New York Times wrote a story on the CASHFLOW board game. As they were doing their research they called and asked, “Do you know you have a CASHFLOW Club in New York City?” We did not.

As we began to delve into it, we discovered over 3,500 CASHFLOW Clubs around the world. These are groups and organizations of people who get together on a regular basis to play the game. When we learned of these CASHFLOW Clubs we were ecstatic because the game was doing what it was originally designed to do; allow people to teach others the principles and strategies to improve their financial lives.

Today, The Rich Dad Company offers books, games and online products, coaching, classes and CASHFLOW Clubs all geared to uphold our mission: To elevate the financial well-being of humanity.

To that end:

We would love you to join in our mission, if it aligns with yours, to educate those in your family, community, city and country in financial literacy and financial freedom. As Rich Dad said, “ Money may not be the most important thing in life, but it affects everything that is.” Our intent is through the Rich Dad teachings that the most important things in your life never suffer because of a lack of money, but instead thrive and prosper.
