Hey folks,
I just read a great little section in a book on ETF yields. Don't forget you can still generate cash flow through dividend paying stocks ... this includes ETFs which trade like stocks and have lower management fees since they don't have all the overhead that mutual funds have. Of course they do have commissions since they trade like regular stocks so buy in big lots but they are usually more tax advantageous since they don't churn internally like mutual funds.
Additionally, Warren Buffet points out, if you are going to get into the stock game but don't have the time to research for great companies, buy ETFs. The management fee typically comes in at half that of a mutual fund at .5 vs 1%.
Unlike real estate you don't get depreciation write offs and you miss out on leverage, but don't overlook this great opportunity to create cash flow through stock.
Happy Investing!
