17 year old help
Hi guys, i'm 17 years old and starting college in a couple of weeks. I have been working 40 hrs/week this summer saving up to make some money to invest. About a month before graduation, I went to a Rich Dad workshop and watched College Conspiracy and it really changed my mind about going to San Francisco State University. So I ended up cancelling my sfsu housing and everything else, to go a junior college for the first 2 years. I hope I made the right choice, to start at a JC get GE classes out the way, while investing in my financial education. Right now im just buying/selling on ebay for extra cash on top of my summer job. Hopefully in 2 years be able to use my financial education to help pay for a "real" university. What would you guys recommend me majoring in? Thanks in advance.

RE:17 year old help
I think you made the right call with the JC and GE classes.  People only look at where your BS came from.
Go to the library and read some books on different subjects.  Once you find a subject that you keep going back too and you find really interesting you might just find what you would like to major in.

What kind of things are you interested in?

If you are planning to be an entrepreneur, it really doesn't matter what you learn. Because you are not planning on landing a good job after school. If you want to hedge your bets, you need to think of what degree will make you attractive to employers after graduation. Best thing would be to combine both options with something that you are interested in.

That is awesome James.

Congratulation on deciding to take charge of your life and your financial education.

Personally, I would invest some time in learning Direct-Response Marketing.
(I am not sure you can learn that in school)

If you want to make a butt load of money here is a few exemple of people who are experts in this field:

Tony Robbins
Robert Kiyosaki
Ryan Deiss
David Wood
Tim Ferriss

You can very easily setup an online ecommerce that can generate cash on auto-pilot. In my opinion information is the best kind of product.

If you apply yourself to this skill while learning some investment strategies, I guarantee that you could pay for your whole university within 6 months.

To the Top,
Renaud
