Course REcommendations - Options Trading
I've attended and watched a dozen+ free webinars, etc. on Options trading. I'm searching for a quality course(s) on Options trading to prepare me for real trades. I'd like to attend the Rich Dad courses but they are offered when I work (time zone issues).

Has anyone taken any online courses or self-studies that have adequately prepared them well?

Thanks, Squig

I'm going to answer my own question.

The OIC - Options Industry Counsel - offers FREE classes, trainings, webinars, calculators and a virtual training system for practicing options trades.

website is: http://www.optionseducation.org/en.html or www.optionseducation.org

Hey Squiggy, thanks for a Real link.  I'm really short on paper asset knowledge and  being able to stop and return to classes at any time is sure a handy way to not be so, well,..ignorant.   Free books and simulations too.  P.S. Do you always talk to yourself ? <grin>

Hey Will!

lol...I'll confess - I do sometimes talk to myself (only when necessary).

I am not close enough for the SF seminar. I also saw those and they look really good.

Paper assetts are an area of weakness for me, so I'm studying up - it's much needed. Really glad this may be helpful.

Bump and First Trade Update
Thanks for the bump, Will!

I've gone through most of the coursework now at OIC. Been using the virtual trade system account for awhile now with some failures and some success (more success lately as I understand how this works). I placed my first real options trade today. I will continue to use the virtual account for learning. However, I have developed some (somewhat) consistent skills and there are some incredible opporunities right now. It's interesting how you start to see things as you educate yourself - this is a truth.

I am currently reading (thanks to a friend's birthday present to me : ) "Options for the Beginner and Beyond" by W. Edward Olmstead. It's pretty good - very helpful to me but would lose someone with no understanding of basic options knowledge. This is where the OIC is great.

RE:Course REcommendations - Options Trading
Squiggy Thanks for the heads up!

I went to the class put on by the OIC - Options Industry Counsel.  Started promptly at 9:00 am ended promptly at 4:00 pm.    I went to the novice class emphasizing the definitions, people, systems, and especially the practice of risk management of options trading.  I studied the preparatory materials and read the sugested book before class.  The class was fast paced, fun and informative.  There were four or five vendors in the lobby four were promoting their trading platforms and services (E Trade, Schwab, I can't remember the other two) one was selling advanced classes on DVD ( Pro Market Advisors ).  No one was high pressure, everyone was low key and most generous with information.  A really nice affair with all the coffee you could drink, soft drinks, continental breakfast, box lunch, afternoon snacks, and they even validated my parking stub.  All at no charge.

I came home with some printed materials now covered in notes and a desire to learn more.  See you at the next class.

Will!

Excited about your report! Thanks for posting this. I'll be attending their next in town event (which isn't until next year where I live). I've completed maybe eight courses online - very helpful. And used the virtual account for trading for several months. I finally tried my first "real life"  (much researched) calls and one put last month. The three calls are doing great - the puts, I need more practice and training with.

It's fun.
