Stop the Negativity Women!

meet your own rich dad - start your quiz now

This is about your financial freedom

“I grew up poor and don’t have any cash to invest.”

“I don’t have a college degree so I’m stuck where I’m at in life.”

“My financial planner took all my retirement money.”

These are just a few of the negative comments I hear from women all over the world. It’ so easy to make excuses, blame others, accept the status quo, and go through life complaining. Well, it needs to stop ladies! You are not going to reach financial freedom with negativity!

As I discuss in “It’s Rising Time!,” the first part of pursuing financial freedom and the Triple-A Triangle™ is to “Aspire.” This is your dream and the very clear vision of what you want. I know there are a lot of bad things happening in the world, and many of you are struggling just to keep food on the table. For now, put these thoughts aside, and let’s focus on you for a few minutes.

What do YOU really want in life?

Be true to yourself and think about your financial dreams. Don’t worry about your education level, your current, credit-card bills or your busy schedule. Instead, focus on what you want. Grab a pen and paper and write down your financial dream. Maybe you want to have more time to spend with your children, support a special charity, travel the world…? It’s your dream. Have fun with it.

Did you write it down?

Ok. Now, how many of you have a little voice in the back of your head saying, “Sigh. That would be wonderful, BUT…”

If so, stop this negative, little voice right now!

According to an article in Psychology Today” by Alex Lickerman, M.D., “complaint…often comes streaming out of our mouths without our conscious awareness. We actually become conditioned by previous repetition to think pessimistically when obstacles arise.”

This means that you need to be more aware of your thoughts. When you feel negative about something, notice this thought and try to replace it with a positive idea… so instead of thinking of the obstacles in your way, think about how you would actually start to make your financial dreams a reality.

And you may have so many negative ideas ingrained in your head from childhood, friends, family, and advisors, this can be a very challenging process. To help make changes happen and take a step closer to making your dreams a reality, start writing down all of your questions such as:

  • What kind of financial education do I need to get where I want to be?
  • What are assets and what type should I pursue?
  • What tools and support will I need to keep me on track with my goals and overcome problems along the way?
  • How will I celebrate little wins as I move forward?

Once you look at your questions, you’ll have a better understanding of the information you need to get where you want to be. And your initial questions will lead to more questions, but this is part of the learning process.

You’ll have a lot of choices to make, some easier than others. But don’t stop here!

At this point, you are already thinking about possibilities rather than the negative, and you are on your way to actually making your financial dreams a reality. Next, you need to start acquiring information to get your questions answered and then take action on this information.

The choices you make will be answered according to who you are. Remember, you are a unique and gifted woman. Don’t let others, or your own negative thoughts, stop you from pursuing your dreams. As I say in “It’s Rising Time!,

“This is your journey, your dream, your process. Make it true to you!”

What actions are you going to take today to start pursuing your dreams of financial freedom?
